About Southern Cross Gold
Southern Cross Gold is advancing multiple high-grade gold-antimony prospects in Victoria, Australia, including Sunday Creek. With epizonal-style orogenic mineralisation and complex faulting, SXG needed a partner who could help illuminate structural controls beneath cover and guide exploration with precision.
The Project
The challenge at a glance
Exploring Victoria’s historic goldfields is complex. Mineralisation is offset by multiple fault systems, and traditional methods left too much uncertainty. SXG needed a high resolution structural model to focus, spend, reduce risk, and build confidence in their next round of exploration.
The breakthrough
Fleet Space deployed Ambient Noise Tomography (ANT) and gravity surveys, integrated with client-provided Induced Polarisation and mapping, to build a multiphysics model of Sunday Creek. This revealed:
- Three dominant fault sets (NW, E– W, NE), some offsetting mineralisation
- Correlation between chargeability anomalies and low-velocity zones (alteration halos)
- Three high-priority areas of interest for follow-up drilling
This was more than geophysics, it was actionable intelligence to de-risk decisions and refine exploration strategy.
